QuiltCon was amazing in Savannah last weekend. After spending a ton of time at the show and then visiting downtown Savannah, Jen and I summoned an Uber and zipped off to See Much More Quilt Shop in Garden City, right outside of Savannah.
They have a roomy classroom that seems like it would be comfortable for taking classes. In the back of the classroom, they had a minimal amount of sale fabric. It was the first thing they said to us when we walked in, so I was surprised by the selection to be honest.
All I managed to buy was two yards of sale fabrics. Those of you who know me, know that is highly unusual. Part of it may be all the QuiltCon shopping. But part of it was that this shop didn’t really have a personality to me. The signs are kind of sloppy, there is stuff everywhere, and it is all a little less organized than the shops that I love. That carries over to the customer service. After my fabric was cut I went to the register and was pretty much ignored. The woman who cut my fabric wasn’t helping another customer, she was chatting with another employee. Weird.
I think if you are a local and regular you would probably have a different experience. It is a fine shop and you will find things, but to me, it isn’t one that I would say I can’t wait to come back to. If you are in the area, give them a try and see for yourself. Maybe I was just there on a bad day. Sew Much More is located at 4831-a Augusta Road, Savannah, GA or online at http://www.sewmuchmore.com/
