Stash Building

I planned to start the year with more sewing than shopping, but it hasn’t really worked out that way. I was in San Diego last week to see a client and was able to do a drive-by at Rosie’s Quilted Cupboard. I only had a few minutes so I wasn’t able to really browse the shop, but I did find some great bargains in the samples bin.

I loved these kids prints, especially the flannel owls. Those swatches are folded over and will probably be plenty for a little baby quilt.

I also picked up these samples. I didn’t realize at the time that there was so much consistency in the palette. I guess I am craving warmth given our cold season has just started. I really love the collection in the upper left and am going to try to find it to buy more. Either way, I am making a table topper out of the sample.

Beyond my trip to San Diego, I also spent a bit of time online with Fat Quarter Shop during their end of year sale. It was very, very dangerous.

I stocked up on pre-cuts, primarily for the holidays. I can’t wait to cut into these! The jelly rolls are for a pattern I am working on, and the rest are for Christmas.

I also grabbed a bit of yardage for Halloween, Easter, Chanukah, and Christmas.

Lastly, I stocked up for Thanksgiving. It is my favorite holiday and there are never enough sunflowers. And for now, no more shopping until QuiltCon – and a lot more sewing!
